Day 22, Now What?
Work Hard, Pray Harder! . September 5, 2021

Matthew Trexler

1 Thessalonians 5:23 – May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 17:24 – An intelligent person aims at wise action, but a fool starts off in many directions.

  • Be Intentional
  • Be Practical
  • Be Consistent
  • Expect Results

Matthew 6:35 – But seek first his kingdom….

1.  Acknowledge & Thank God.

Psalm 145:1-3 – I will exalt you, my God the King;
I will praise your name for ever and ever.
Every day I will praise you
and extol your name for ever and ever.

Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
his greatness no one can fathom.

“The secret to having everything is believing you already do.”

2.  Talk to God.

Psalm 68:19 – Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.

  • Certain Time

Psalm 5:3 – In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.

  • Certain Place

Mark 1:35 – Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

  • Certain Plan

Luke 11:2-4 – He said to them, “When you pray, say:

“‘Father,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.
And lead us not into temptation.’”

3.  Read & Submit to God’s word.

Isaiah 40:8 – The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”

Psalm 1:1-3 – Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
    whatever they do prospers.

4.  Maintain meaningful relationships.

Hebrews 3:13 – But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

5.  Surrender my life to God.

1 Corinthians 15:31 – I face death every day—yes, just as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Luke 9:23 – Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.
