We would love for you to join us at one the identical services listed below and make Christmas at The River a part of your holiday traditions. We would love to have everyone of our River Church Family members attend a service and serve at another. Ask at the Welcome Desk on Sunday how you can get involved!
Want to Help Out Before The Big Give?
Can't be there on the day of The Big Give on Saturday, December 14th? Want to jump in early? We have 2 options for you to get involved to help prepare for the big event.
Serve Descriptions
Phone Team | We need friendly, caring people to answer the phones, and help register guests over the phone or in-person at The River Church Office.
Box Prep Team | 1,200 boxes need to be taped and prepped for The Big Give. Can you come into The River Church and help prep?
Are you an "Early Bird" who can help out on the day of the event?
Packing the food boxes will happen at the church early on the morning of the Big Give this year. This will be early Saturday morning serving, but don't worry... We'll have the coffee going and something to snack on for breakfast. This year, the packing of the food boxes will happen on Saturday morning from 7:30-9:30am on the day of The Big Give.
You can choose to serve on another team if you'd like to stick around for all The Big Give action. It's a fun day even if you start at 7:30am... or you can just serve on the early bird team, and head home.
Serve Descriptions
Box Packing Team | This is an individual or family serving opportunity to come in and pack the food boxes the day of The Big Give at The River. Packing begins early in the morning from 7:30-9:30am on December 14th, but don't worry we will be brewing the coffee, and will even have some breakfast for you!
It's "Game Day!" Do you want to be in on all the action during The Big Give?
Take a look at all these options! Find something that interests you below. YOU MUST SELECT ONLY ONE of the options below to let us know you will be serving with us on Saturday, December 14th for The Big Give. Prepare to be OUTDOORS unless other wise noted. Dress accordingly.
If you choose to serve as a family your child must stay with you through the entire event.
Serve Descriptions
Delivery Team | You can literally pretend to be Santa! This team will deliver boxes to those in our community who are physically or mentally impaired. Bring your biggest vehicle and Christmas spirit ready to go out in to the community.
Welcome & Character Team | Do you dream of holding fun signs, helping direct traffic and spreading Christmas spirit like Buddy the Elf? You will be located on the front lawn waving, smiling, and having fun with those that are waiting in line or just driving by. You can be in your cozy coat and hat! Other members of our team will dress in full Christmas character costumes (provided by our team), waving to families and smiling for pictures!
Check-In Team | Our Check-In team is an adult team who will be checking in our guests with an app on your phone (don't worry we will help set you up!). You will be working in groups of two so sign up with a friend! One person will check in guests and the other will hand out candy canes and tickets to pick up their meal box. Have your phone charged and ready to go with a welcoming smile!
Meal Box Team | This is an adult team doing different jobs to help distribute all the goodies! As cars arrive, this team will work together with the Car Team to do quality control, distribute boxes, and help re-arrange the worship center. *Lifting required for this job!
Car Team | Want two different jobs to help distribute all the goodies? As cars arrive, this team will be handing out a yummy treat and card with information on how to enter to win the door prizes while the other half of the team loads boxes into the vehicles! If you like to talk and engage with people, this job is for you!
Household Box Team | Adults or teens... HEAVY LIFTING REQUIRED so bring your muscles! This team will help load the other household box into cars and send our guests out. You are the final person they get to speak to!
Hospitality Team | Help provide breakfast before the event for our team, serve hot drinks and snacks during the event, and provide lunch for our hard working Dream Team volunteers. The team also ensures the cove is clean. This team is for adults only.
Traffic & Security Team | Provide traffic control and a safe environment. Qualified professionals will be located at the 4 outer perimeters around the building and parking lot providing security and traffic control. More members will help with traffic control at different key areas and monitoring to ensure that vehicles are not cutting in line.
Creative Team | Bring your camera if you have one because you will be capturing all the moments of The Big Give throughout the day! Creativity and fun is a must-have requirement.
