Don’t give the enemy a seat at your table.

John 10:10a The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.

Genesis 3:1,4“Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’… ‘You will not certainly die.’”

…the enemy seeks to steal, kill and destroy through your mind.

Psalms 23:1-6 1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Psalms 23:5 “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”

He is not going to get rid of it all, but He promises to be there in it all.

doubt the character and power of God.

Saying “the Lord is my shepherd” is us saying that we need help.

If you want to win the battle of your mind, you need to have the humility to say that you are not in charge.

if we want to win the battle of our mind, we have to let God sit down at the table.

John 10:3-4 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.

we have to get close enough to Him and spend enough time with him to know His voice.

If we want to win the battle of our mind, we have to be able to differentiate between lies and truth.

  • It’s better at the other table.
  • I’m not good enough.
  • I’m not going to make it.
  • I’m surrounded and there’s no way out.
  • Everyone is against me.

Psalms 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing

2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Exodus 14:13-14 13 “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Romans 8:31 “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Genesis 3:10-11 “(Adam) answered, ‘I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.’ 11 And he said, ‘Who told you that you were naked?’”

John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it in full.”

“So maybe I couldn’t stop the Devil from prowling around my table, but in Jesus’ name, I definitely did have the choice whether I allowed the Enemy to sit down.” – Louie Giglio

Because it doesn’t matter where your table is or what’s at your table. What matters is who is at your table.
