Welcome to River Kids
At The River Church we are passionate about raising Giants for the Kingdom. We believe our kids are not the leaders of tomorrow, but the leaders of today.
It’s never too early to introduce kids to Jesus and His love for them. Our goal is for your kids to have an age-appropriate encounter with God, build a Biblical foundation for their lives, grow with friends and leaders, and love being at church.
River Kids is led by Alex Schuler at The River.
Your First Visit
From babies to fourth graders, our team wants to give your family an excellent experience. When you arrive, look for our River Kids signs posted around the building, and our welcome team will happily show you the way to the children’s area. You’ll go to the River Kids Welcome Desk where you can get your family registered. On our check-in form, we’ll ask things like what allergies your child may have and how many children are in your family, and how to contact you. Then, you and your child will both get a sticker with a matching code. If for any reason we need to reach you during the service, we will text you. This sticker is also what you’ll use to pick up your child after the service.
We Value Your Child's Safety
As a parent, you can know that your child is in a safe environment. River Kids Dream Team members submit letters of reference and comply with criminal history background checks. In addition, your child will wear a name tag with a secure, unique check-in reference number and you will be given a claim ticket with that number so that only you can pick them up following the service. All River Kids environments are cleaned and sanitized between services.

Early Childhood
Birth - Pre-School
Our Early Childhood environment is geared toward specific age groups.
In the Nursery, we know babies have specific needs and schedules, so when you bring your child to the classroom, we have an easy-to-use form that you can fill out to let our team know the feeding, sleeping, and changing needs your child has.
In the Toddler and Preschool rooms, your child will experience a hands on Bible lesson, time of worship, and fun games.
Each unique lesson is designed to fit the needs of our preschoolers.
Elementary
Kindergarten through 5th Grade
We are a church of small groups, and it is no different with our kids. Every weekend, your children first through fourth grade come to a River Kids service where they experience worship and Biblical teaching. Most of their time is spent in their small group to give them the benefit of a consistent small group leader and interaction with kids their age. Together, they learn about the Bible and how to have a relationship with God, memorize Scripture, and have fun developing friendships with each other.
Partnering with Parents
We believe the best way we can help your kids develop a strong spiritual foundation is by partnering with you.
Together, we can help encourage, train, and pray for them as they grow in their faith. Here are some practical ways you can help us make the most of your child’s time spent at church:
Pick a consistent service time and location to help your kids build a relationship with their consistent small group leader and other kids their age.
Practice the current River Kids Bible Verse memorization with your kids.
Pray for your children each week as they come to church, and pray for our teams as they serve and care for your kids.
