Matthew 5:14-16 You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”

1.) Someone has sharpened you spiritually.

2.) You have what it takes to sharpen someone else spiritually.

Who has been influential in your spiritual growth?

What’s your spiritual heritage?

Luke 5:17-20 One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick. 18 Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus. When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”

It might be messy.

Luke 5:20 “When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”

The messy requires faith.

Stop waiting for the sure proof plan.

Philippians 1:3-6  I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Your part matters.

Ezekiel 22:30 “I searched for a man among them to repair the wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, so that I should not destroy it. But I found no one.”

“The wall spoken of here is not made of stones, but of faithful people united in their efforts to resist evil. This wall was in disrepair because there was no one who could lead the people back to God. The feeble attempts to repair the gap – through religious rituals or messages based on opinion rather than God’s will – were as worthless as whitewash, only covering the real problems. What the people really needed was spiritual reconstruction! You can join with others to stand “in the gap” and make a difference for God in the world!”

Don’t do nothing.

Matthew 5:14-16 (The Message) “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”
